Therefore, we have compiled a detailed guide for skiing in Divčibare, which will be helpful for both beginners and experienced skiers.
Divčibare – winter vacation and skiing adventures worth remembering
Divčibare is a city settlement in the center of the Maljen mountain, which is only 107 km or 2 hour’s drive from the capital. Its elevation is approximately 980 meters above sea level.
Thanks to the favorable geographical location, visitors can enjoy the magic of skiing 4 months a year – this is possible because air masses from the Carpathians and the Mediterranean meet here, which enriches the air with iodine and makes the climate suitable for winter sports.
In this regard, there are many other activities at your disposal, such as:
- Sledding – on some tracks there is also a space for sledding, and the little ones can try going down with the help of the famous klisko sleds. On these trails, such activities are completely safe, because they are performed under controlled conditions.
- Ice Skating – in the center of Divčibare there is a skating rink, and we invite you to dare and embark on an adventure on the ice. Skates are provided, but there is also an option to bring your own.
- Nordic skiing – is a variation of skiing, and is often called cross-country skiing. This skiing technique is most often applied on slightly flatter surfaces that are covered with snow, and at Divčibare you have the opportunity to try this unusual sport.
In the winter season, equipment for winter sports can be rented in several places.
If you long for an unusual vacation that will awaken all your senses, we encourage you to try one of these eccentric activities.
Regardless of whether you are on vacation with friends, close family members, or a romantic partner, we believe that you will find an interesting activity here for everyone.

Divčibare – trails for beginners
If you are just planning to step into skiing, the best option is to opt for smaller trails that are not too steep.
There are 3 smaller Divčibare ski slopes at your disposal: near the “Zmaj” resort, as well as on Golubac and near the “Maljen” hotel. These trails are 300 m long and have a capacity of 200 skiers per hour.
There are also 3 ski lifts nearby, so you can easily and simply climb to the top and take your first ski steps. These lifts are located on slightly sloping terrain, without trees, which is an ideal option for beginners.
All parents and children will be happy to learn that, during the winter season, a ski school is open for children of all ages.
If you are not a fan of skiing, but just want to support your loved ones, there are nice cafes and restaurants nearby where you can drink coffee or any other beverage of your choice.
And after a hard training session, you can taste the specialties of local cuisine or modern gastronomic delicacies, in the same catering establishments – we leave the choice of food and drinks exclusively to you!
Divčibare – “Center” ski track for more advanced skiers
In the very heart of Divčibare, there is a ski track called “Centar“, which stretches along the northern ridge of the mountain, with a length of approximately 600 m.
It is located in the immediate vicinity of the Divčibare castle, and the height difference between the top and the bottom of the trail is about 100m. The capacity is 700 skiers per hour.
It has a sharper slope, and the fall is steeper. Accordingly, this trail is not suitable for beginners, but only for experienced or more advanced skiers.
What will especially delight you is the mesmerizing view from the top of the mountain ranges, i.e. Valjevo mountains. Pastures, gorges and the smell of pine forests will surely take your breath away!
There is also a ski lift on the trail. To use this lift, you need to place a cable with a plate between your legs, which will ascend you to the top.
The working hours of the ski lift are usually from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., every day, but time may vary from season to season.
And the special charm of the “Centar” Divčibare ski slope is the option of night skiing – as this slope is the only one on the entire mountain that has full night lighting. The lamps are placed from the top to the bottom, making night descents completely safe.
Enjoy the descent, while the starry sky twinkles above you!
Crni vrh Divčibare trail – a ski trail for experienced skiers
We recommend all fans of adrenaline skiing to try the new trail, which is located on the north side of Crni vrh and bears the same name. It belongs to the red category ski slopes.
